James Darrell Poteet Jr.

James Darrell Poteet Jr., longtime Agra/Tryon resident, was born to James Sr. and Joanne (Walker) Poteet on July 18, 1954, in Cushing, Okla. He died Saturday, September 12, 2020, at the age of 66 years.

A graduate of Agra High School, he worked in the oilfield for Saber Drilling, Equal Energy and Red Cloud Drilling and was also a truck driver.

Preceding him in death were his parents and maternal and paternal grandparents.

Survivors include his wife Paula Dawn (Davis) Poteet of the home; his daughter and son-inlaw, Anihtra and Brandon Watkins of Perkins, Okla., his son Jameson Poteet of Grove, Okla.; his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Judy Poteet of Agra; his sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Chris Cooper of Cushing; five grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

The family will have a private gathering to honor James Jr.’s life.

Final arrangements were under the direction of Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing.
