Stroud Senior Salute

Although prom was cancelled and the seniors are missing out on the traditional senior memories, Stroud Schools strives to create a memory for them.

A banner of the Stroud seniors was placed outside the Stroud Senior Center to honor the 46 graduating seniors.

Stroud High School counselor Keri Elerick was contacted by Samantha Ross with From the Heart Fine Art and Photography and asked if Stroud would be interested in banners.

“I just kind of did it,” Elerick said. “I thought, ‘We need that for our kids.’”

Elerick worked with Stroud City Manager Bob Pearman and Stroud Chamber of Commerce President Kyle Anderson about where to put the banner.

“I just wanted to put them all together,” she said. “I wanted to keep them as a class.”

Ross is dealing with the cancellation of senior events and the dismay it’s caused because she has two seniors of her own.

Ross said since she wasn’t working she wanted use her skills to honor the 2020 seniors.

Ross created banners for the Bristow, Depew, Stroud and Davenport seniors.

Elerick said the banner will probably stay up until the end of May.

The costs of the banners was $10 and was paid for by the Senior Class Account.

Elerick said she wanted every senior to have a banner.
