GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY

The family of Gerald and Sylvia Janes of Wellston are honored to announce the couple’s 50th Wedding Anniversary. Sylvia Tripp and Gerald Janes were united in marriage on June 19, 1971 in Edmond, Okla.

You are invited to celebrate with them on June 19 between 4-8 p.m. at The Rusty Mallard in Chandler. (south 3.5 miles on Hwy. 18 from Hwy. 66 in Chandler).

Gerald worked for Honeywell out of college and ultimately retired from General Motors after 20+ years. Sylvia received her master’s degree while teaching at Chandler and remained there until retirement after 24 years. They have attended the Wellston church of Christ for over 40 years, where Gerald has led singing for many of those years.

Gerald continues to raise cattle and go on a few trips with Sylvia each year. Sylvia is a guide for Village Tours. She travels the globe, spends time with grandkids and relaxes on the back porch with Gerald.

The couple’s three children and their spouses are Tammy Austin and her husband Tom, Brian Janes and his wife Shannon and Todd Janes and his wife Rosey. They are the grandparents of Caleb Austin and his wife Holly, Meagan Janes, Megan Mondragon, Tresdon Janes, Kira Austin, Lexi Mondragon, Archer Janes and Whitlee Janes. They are the Great-Grandparents of our heavenly angel, John Caleb Austin.
