McGee honored with Order of the Rose

Psi Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi honored long time member, Davina Hodge McGee with the Order of the Rose which recognizes members for their years of service and dedication to the aims and ideals of the organization.

In a candlelight ritual led by her mother, Chris Hodge, and assisted by her sister, Michelle Daugherty, also members of organization and recipients of the honor, it was noted that a member must be nominated by her chapter to be eligible for the award and have had fifteen years of continuous membership.

Davina joined in 1998 and in 2003 moved to Minnesota and used the privilege of transfer to a chapter there and was an active member until 2004 when she moved back to Stroud and reaffiliated with the local chapter.

The Order of the Rose was introduced to the membership in 1955 as a way to recognize outstanding members for their fidelity to the ideals of the organization and contributions to its years of success.

Davina was presented with a yellow rose, the official flower, a rose pin and charm. All members participated in the presentation.

Beta Sigma Phi is an international women’s social sorority, not affiliated with any college or university and founded in 1931.

Its motto is “Life, Learning, Friendship.” Membership is by invitation.

Chapters meet monthly for businesses meetings that include a program planned and presented by members, a requirement to progress in membership levels. Socials and community service projects are an important part of membership. Above all, the friendships made and widening the circle of friendships are most important.

The local chapter will host the Oklahoma State Convention in Stroud in June of 2026, bringing members together to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of US Route 66 and the 95th anniversary of the founding of Beta Sigma Phi.
