Sydney Duncan and Harley Cole have been selected as Rotarians of the Month for October.

Sydney Duncan is the daughter of Karen and Jeff Duncan. She has two siblings.

After Sydney graduates, she would like to go to Barclay College and pursue a degree in business. She has prepared herself for post-high school by going to vocational schools, applying to colleges and scholarships, and participating in Business Professionals of America.

She is a highly dedicated and compassionate cosmetologist with experience in acrylic nails, gel nails and nail art. She is a quick learner, has good people skills and is organized and reliable.

Her education includes cosmetology at Gordon Cooper Technology Center in Shawnee.

Sydney’s other activities include Skills USA, band, student board of junior class and Skills USA Vice. She is an honor student and has a license with the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering/ Cosmetologist. She has been a counselor for Camp Quaker Heaven and does babysitting for her church and church camp.

Harley Cole is the daughter of Chris Cole and Charla Munn. She has one younger sister.

After she graduates, Harley will attend Oklahoma State University and has already been accepted through early admissions. She plans to major in chemistry and minor in pre-med to become a radiologist.

Harley has maintained As and Bs through high school and currently has a 3.8 GPA. She also scored 27 on her ACT. She is enrolled in three honors classes: AP English IV, Algebra II and Physics.

She is also very active in her school and community. Harley’s high school activities include band, drama, stagecraft, choir, FFA, BPA, YAHL, PSI, Positive Peers, student council, BancFirst Student Board and Gifted and Talented.

She has helped put together “Girl Power, Wise Guys” with PSI, made holiday cards with her Positive Peers group for residents at Chandler Therapy and Living Center, and helped restore the band room last summer.

Harley is a natural leader and has been in many leadership positions, including clarinet section leader in band, student council representative, stage manager in drama and secretary in BPA.
