Prairie Pointe residents and about 15-20 socially distancing and masked guests enjoyed live music and ice cream last Wednesday.

Our favorite country western singer and songwriter, Bret Graham performed outside while cups of strawberry and chocolate ice cream from Unique OK compliments of Mark Lytle were savored.

Ralph Britton and sons brought Mr. Barrett for one last goodbye before he heads for California.

Go west, old man! But just remember, we told you this was a bad idea.

Bets are that Henry, the cat, escapes at some point in the journey and somehow finds his way home to Stroud--the cat version of Lassie.

Beautiful, ripe and delicious cantaloupes from “The Garden” were brought in by our favorite green hand Joe Bill Shelhope. A little salt, a little pepper, some cottage cheese – nothing better!

A big “Thank You!” to all the garden helpers.

Prairie Pointe church services have been led that past two Sundays by Rae Ellen Bland. Her most recent devotion was titled “Together with God in the Psalms.” She reminded we can turn to God in all of life’s circumstances. Various residents had good thoughts to share, some favorite hymns were sung and Phil Johnson dismissed with prayer.

We certainly miss the various church groups coming out on Sundays but the in-house services led by our residents have been very special and meaningful. Just like the Bible says in Mathew 18 – For where two or more are gathered in My name, I am with them.

Hellen Horton’s birthday was celebrated August 2 with cupcakes provided by her sister, Vivian Henshaw.

It was a happy day!

If you or a loved one needs just a bit of assistance – meals, medication administration, housekeeping and laundry – think about Prairie Pointe.
