Hearings scheduled in harboring case

Preliminary hearings have been scheduled for the mother and sister who are charged with harboring a fugitive from justice.

Kara Vancuren, 34, of Prague, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court July 29 with harboring a fugitive from justice. Lincoln County deputies reported in a probable cause affidavit that she is the sister of Mick Devin Vancuren who has been charged with a total of six felonies and several misdemeanors in several separate cases.

A $3,000 bench warrant was initially issued for her arrest and court records show the warrant was returned and filed Aug. 8. She appeared before Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk on that date and she scheduled Vancuren’s initial appearance for Sep. 29.

Also facing a felony harboring a fugitive from justice count is Robin Lea Marsh, 65, of Prague, identified by deputies in a probable cause affidavit as Vancuren’s mother. The charge was formally filed on Aug. 8 in Lincoln County District Court.

Marsh’s bond was set at $5,000. Both women made their initial appearance Sept. 29.

Special Judge Emily Mueller originally set their prepreliminary hearings for Nov. 17. She continued those hearings until Dec. 15 and ordered both to be present with their attorneys.
