Hearings set in harboring cases

Preliminary hearings have been scheduled for two women charged with harboring a Prague man facing multiple felonies.

Karen Vancuren, 34, of Prague, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court July 29 with harboring a fugitive from justice.

Lincoln County deputies reported in a probable cause affidavit that she is the sister of Mick Devin Vancuren who has been charged with multiple felonies and several misdemeanors in three separate cases.

Also facing a felony harboring a fugitive from justice count is Robin Lea Marsh, 65, of Prague, identified by deputies in a probable cause affidavit as Vancuren’s mother. The charge was formally filed on Aug. 8 in Lincoln County District Court.

Their preliminary hearings have been scheduled for March 2 this year.

A $3,000 bench warrant was initially issued for her arrest and court records show the warrant was returned and filed Aug. 8. She appeared before Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk on that date and she scheduled Vancuren’s initial appearance for Sep. 29. On Sep. 29, Special Judge Emily Mueller set her pre-preliminary hearing for Nov. 17.

Marsh’s bond was set at $5,000 and she made her initial appearance on Sep. 29. Judge Mueller set her pre-preliminary for Nov. 17.

Marsh and Kara Vancuren are accused of aiding, assisting and concealing Mick Vancuren when they knew law enforcement officers were looking for him for the purpose of executing warrants for his arrest.

Marsh, along with Mick and Kara Vancuren were arrested on June 9, the probable cause affidavit states, as deputies were attempting to serve outstanding warrants on Mick Vancuren.
