These letters from first graders at Wellston Elementary School about how to cook a turkey did not run in our previous issue.
Mrs. Carroll’s Class
I would go into the woods and kill a turkey. Put it in the oven for 20 minutes at 70 degrees. Take it out of the oven and eat it.
- Lincoln You will buy a turkey. Then put it in the oven for 80 minutes. Cook on warm. You take it out of the oven and start eating it.
- Juliana I would go hunting for the turkey. I would cook it for 20 minutes at 100 degrees. Put in some filling and then we eat it.
- Weston I will hunt for a turkey. Then take the feathers off. Then cook it for 10 minutes and at 70 degrees. I would wait 1 minute for the turkey to cool down. Then I eat it.
- Matthew I would first put it in the oven. Then put lemon pepper on it. Cook it for 3 minutes at 100 degrees.
- Beckett Go to Walmart buy a turkey. Then take it home and cook it in the oven for 15 minutes. Then I would eat it.
- Samuel I will hunt the turkey. I will put seasoning on it. Put it in the oven for 20 minutes. Then let it cool down for 2 minutes. I would put some sauce on it and eat it.
- Dustin Put it in the oven for 10 minutes at 23 degrees. Take it out and let it cool for 11 minutes. Put some seasoning on it. Now eat it.
- Guinevere Get a turkey at Sams. Then cook it on the grill for 4 minutes. Then I will cut it up and put salt on it. Then I will eat it.
- Blake I would hunt for a turkey. I will put it in the oven for 5 minutes at 100 degrees. Then I would put it on the table to eat.
- Ellie First I would go hunting for a turkey. I would take the feathers out. Then I would peel the skin off. I would cook it in my oven for 11 minutes at 70 degrees. Then I would put some salt on it. Then I would eat it.
- Leelyn Put it in the oven. Cook it for 20 minutes. Take it out and eat it.
- Klaus I would buy it from the store. Boil it in some water. Then take the bad skin off. Then my dad will cut half of it and cook it in the microwave and then cook the rest on the grill. Then we will eat it.
- Maggie Go to Walmart and get a turkey. Put it in the oven to cook for 1 hour. Then I take it out and eat it.

Mrs. Johnson’s Class
I need to get meat, salt, and pepper. I like the pepper. Put some oil on the turkey. Put it on a metal plate. Put it in the oven for 20 minutes really hot. Take it out of the oven, wait for it not to be hot, and then eat it.
- William Tharp Go to Sams and buy a turkey. Get salt, pepper, and spices. Put the turkey in the oven for 5 minutes. Then, take it out and put it on the dinner table. Eat it!
- Lucy Steffenson Get the ingredients – salt and pepper. Put the turkey on a pan and put it in the oven. Maybe cook it 10 or 5 minutes. Not sure about how hot. Take it out and put it on a plate. Your done!
- J.W. Owens Get salt and pepper. Get your turkey from Walmart. Cook it warm and put it in the oven for 2 minutes. Take it out and then put the salt and pepper on. I think I’m done.
- Keegan Swanson First up, I put it in a pot. Put butter on it and cook for a few minutes. Then, we eat!
- Houston Perdue First, is the turkey. Put seasoning and hot sauce on it. Then, I put some stuffing on deer meat by the turkey. Put it in a jar and cook it in the oven for 10 seconds at medium hot. I get it out. Get the table ready and put the food on the table. That’s it.
- Beau Matthews Put seasoning on the turkey and then a little more. Then put seasoning in the pan. Put turkey in the pan. Cook turkey in the oven 5 to 20 minutes at 4 degrees. Take it out and cut it. Set the table and then eat it.
- Alivia Newson Get some plates and spoons. Go to the store and get a turkey. Put seasoning on the turkey. Put it in the oven for 10 minutes. Take it out. Then, eat it!
- Adleigh Kincaid Need spoons, plates, forks, and a kinda big knife. Go to the store and get a turkey. When I get home I bake it for 30 minutes. Ge the table ready, put everything on the table, and that’s it. Oh wait, we eat it!
- J.J Romero Get forks, spoons, turkey, and spices. Put the turkey in the oven and cook it for 5 minutes at 20 degrees. Eat!! Then, eat Pumpkin Pie!!
- Anthony Owens So I would get an ax. Go find a big turkey. Then, take it to my house. Then, chop it. Then, turn the oven on. Then, put it in the pan. Then, put salt on him and some corn. Then, I would eat it!
- Jay Judd I need a turkey. Kill it. Cook it warm for 1 minutes. Put spices on it. Eat it for supper.
- Josey Carter So I go to the store and get forks and spoons. Then, I go into the woods and hunt for a turkey. When I get one, I take it to my house. Then, I cook it for 10 minutes. When it is done, I put spices on it and them eat it.
