The Stroud Board of Education approved several annual agreements, contracts and policy updates during its regular meeting June 8.
Board members approvedAlternative Education Cooperative memorandums of understanding with Chandler, Davenport and Depew for the 2026-27 school year. The board also approved a memorandum of understanding and special services agreement with Crossroads Youth and Family Services Head Start, along with a contract with CTSA Head Start.
The board approved renewal leases with Xerox Financial Services for school printers, a contract with The Center for Education Law, a Blue Mark bid and a propane contract with MFA Oil Co. at $1.70 per gallon.
Members also approved a lease agreement for a Quadient postage meter at $95.25 per month, property and liability insurance through Oklahoma Schools Insurance Group and workers’ compensation insurance through Oklahoma School Assurance Group.
The board approved Board Policy FE, setting transfer capacity numbers by grade, with pre-K capacity reduced to 10. The item passed 4-1, with board member Holly Thompson voting against it.
The board also approved Board Policy EFBCA, covering internet and other acceptable use and internet safety.
After an executive session, the board took no action on an assistant for music programs at the middle school and high school, Kevin Couch’s extra-duty contract as director of bands or the employment of a high school principal.
The board accepted the resignation of Tara Fischer as a paraprofessional at Parkview Elementary School, along with the resignations of Tracey Fine and Justin Fine as special education co-op transportation drivers for the 2026-27 school year.
Board members also approved overnight stays for FFA students to attend FFAAlumni Camp at Camp Tulakogee in Wagoner from July 1-4 and July 8-11.
