Thank you to everyone who has purchased veteran’s banners displayed on Main Street. We currently have eighty-seven banners honoring our veterans, both living and deceased and current service members. We have three new banners that will be going up soon. Courtney Cornett purchased a two-sided banner to honor her grandfather Bob Trout and her brother Adam Tuttle, Roberta Johnson bought one to honor her husband, Louie Johnson, who is a SHS 1966 graduate. Lana Gaye Mills Files, Mike Mills and Lori Mills Woodall purchased a banner in memory of their dad Lantos Mills. Lantos was married to Georgia Smalley Mills who graduated from Stroud High School. Liz Fasching is honoring her son, Stroud graduate Earl Matthew Fasching, with a banner.

The American Legion Auxiliary and Town Talk volunteers will host their annual Memorial Day ceremony on Monday May 27th at 10:00 a.m. at the Stroud Cemetery. The community is invited to attend to pay homage to our veterans buried in Stroud. There will be a short program and chairs and water will be provided.
Kendrick will celebrate their alumni on June 1 with activities starting at 11:00 a.m. There will be a parade, all day yard sales, games, contests, and drawings. Everyone is invited. Contact Patty at 918-368-2219 for more information.
Town Talk offers condolences to the families of Carole Flatt Thompson and Charles Roe. Carole, a 1964 Stroud graduate, passed away at her home in Stroud on Sunday, April 28th. Both of her children, Billy Gosnell and Bobbi Gosnell Parcell, are Stroud graduates. Charles, a 1971 Stroud graduate, was married to his high school sweetheart, Aneta Kluck Roe. The Class of 1971 is having breakfast at Tammy’s Round-Up Café in Davenport on May 25th at 8:00 a.m. At this time, they will be honoring Charles’ memory.
