Hearing set in sex case

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a man facing a total of nine sex-related charges with a minor.

Danny Ray Weeks, Jr., 52, was charged in two different cases. One case was filed Aug. 25 in Lincoln County District Court alleging five counts of sex-related charges with a minor.

On Sep. 7, four additional sex-related charges were filed in Lincoln County District Court against him.

A $200,000 bench warrant was issued for his arrest on those five counts. Court records show that the warrant was returned and filed on Aug. 29.

Special Judge Emily Mueller held a hearing on Aug. 29 Judge Mueller on Sep. 15 scheduled his preliminary hearing for 1:30 p.m. Nov. 4 on all nine charges and ordered the $200,000 bond remain as previously set.

With the filing of the additional counts, it brings to three the number of victims who are minors he allegedly violated. All three victims are reportedly related.

According to the records, the state has filed a notice of intent to offer evidence of other offenses.

Even though Weeks resides in Shawnee, the alleged crimes occurred in Lincoln County, according to the charges.

According to the charges, Weeks allegedly committed the crimes during the period Sep. 18. 2020 through Sep. 18. 2021, in Lincoln County.

Each of the charges reportedly occurred with a child under the age of 12 years old.

Lincoln County Deputy Sheriff Cody Coleman and Lincoln Detective George Kelly Coleman, investigated the case. Deputy Coleman said he took the initial report in the case.

Also, Vanessa Parsons, with the Child Advocacy Center of Central Oklahoma in Shawnee, conducted a forensic interview, an affidavit filed in the case states.

According to an affidavit filed, while investigating the original case against Weeks, Detective Coleman learned of other possible victims on Aug. 30.
