Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. Americans spend a lot on love. According to the National Retail Foundation Americans spent nearly $26 billion on Valentine’s Day gifts in 2023. People are expected to spend an average of approximately $193 for Valentine’s Day. Can you imagine if we all bought even a portion of our Valentine’s Day presents locally how much profit we could generate for merchants and the amount of tax revenue we could deposit in our city’s coffer? It’s why we should shop locally first. If you’re unsure of what to get your sweetheart, candy is the number one selling gift. Have a great week and don’t forget to shop local…………………..first!
