Prague’s girls took second as a team and had two runners finish in the top six at the Class 3A state cross country meet Saturday at Carl Albert High School.
Junior Jocelyn Ward ran 11:49.80, 12 seconds better than her time at last year’s state meet, to take fourth and senior Hailey Johnson ran 11:58.80, 21 seconds better than her time a year ago, to take sixth.
Prague finished second behind Lincoln Christian, which was the state champion last year in Class 4A but moved down a class this year.
“Our girls did great,” said Prague coach Mandy Rolette. “They all did great - I’m proud of them.
“That’s a hard course and it’s hard to PR because of all the hills, so it was awesome how fast Jocelyn and Hailey came in.”
Davenport’s boys finished 13th in Class A and senior Cooper Emmons took fifth; Stroud’s girls took sixth in Class 2A, North Rock Creek’s boys finished eighth in Class 4A and McLoud’s boys took 18th.
