Student’s art wins top honor

Art students from Prague had projects accepted into the Mabee-Gerrer Museum’s Second Annual High School Juried Art Show held in March. Ashley Davis received Best of Show and was awarded $100. Earning Honorable Mention ribbons were Harley Frey, Madison Dowdy, Ashley Davis, Abby McCoy and Adam Marsh.

Stroud to host Legislative Breakfast

The City of Stroud will host a Legislative Breakfast, 8-9 a.m., Friday, April 29. Please note the updated location. It will be at Stroud High School, 1096 E. Seventh St. in Stroud. Breakfast will be available to purchase.

Chandler Library receives grant

The Oklahoma Department of Libraries has awarded a $5,339 grant to Chandler Public Library to address impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Library Director Carmen Harkins says the grant will be used to purchase items for social distancing and sanitizing.

City of Chandler to sponsor pet vaccination clinic

The City of Chandler in cooperation with Countryside Veterinary Service is sponsoring a low-cost pet vaccination clinic and city pet registration 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, April 16. The event will be at the Rt. 66 Pavilion, 1113 Joe Long Drive in Chandler. Pre-registration is 10-11 a.m.

Senior safety program offered

John Cobb, Director of Central Oklahoma Economic Development District Area Agency on Aging, announced that a pilot program has been launched aimed at getting help to senior citizens in the event of an in-home incident.

The need for advocates for Nursing Home, Assisted Living Centers and Residential Care facility residents remains high.
