Joel Paul Schofield, 41, of Chandler was charged with possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction, possession of controlled dangerous substance, obstructing an officer and resisting arrest.

Budget work continues

The House and Senate continue to work together to draft a budget for Fiscal Year 2021 despite very little collaboration from the executive branch. The Legislature is coming back into session this week, May 4, to continue work on the budget and perhaps to hear some policy bills.

Sac and Fox nation extends current closures

Sac and Fox Nation officials announced today they will extend the current closures of government offices and casinos due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Sac and Fox Nation tribal offices will remain closed through May 31. All casinos will remain closed through May 15.

Pet food available for families impacted by Covid-19

With the help of GreaterGood and the Humane Society of Tulsa, the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry was able to donate hundreds of pounds of pet food all across the state to pet owners in need.

Ice Cream Festival canceled

With great regret, the Chandler Area Chamber of Commerce announced that the annual Chandler Ice Cream Festival scheduled for June 13 has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 crisis.
