Lincoln County commissioners this week appointed four members to the 522 Ambulance Service District Board with two more to be appointed at their next meeting.District 1 Commissioner Will Fine had his two appointments ready as did District 2 Commissioner Marlon Miller.

Agra High School has announced its valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2025. Kimberly Martin was named valedictorian, while Paizley Dutton was named salutatorian.Kimberly Martin Kimberly Martin is the daughter of Brant and Jeni Martin.

Hotel coming down

It’s been over a month since Dr. Theresa McKinzie, owner of The Lincoln County Animal Hospital, has been able to work out of her office at 1218 Manvel.She’s set up in a small house next door - allegedly the oldest in Chandler - unable to work at full capacity, she said.

Wellston college student recieves OSU scholarship for 2025/26 year

Brooke Payne from Wellston has been awarded the Janet Meinders Charalampous Endowed Scholarship from the Oklahoma State University Ferguson College of Agriculture, according to a press release from the school.Payne is studying natural resource ecology and management.

Egg hunt on Sat

The Easter Bunny is hopping through Chandler on April 19 for the annual Chandler Downtown Easter Egg Hunt.Hosted by theVFWPost #1719Auxiliary, the event will take place on the lawn of the Lincoln County Courthouse, with the hunt kicking off at 11 a.m.

Meeker School Board approves temp appropriations

Meeker Board of Education members this week approved temporary appropriations for 2025-2026, hired several personnel and accepted the resignations of two teachers.School Supt. Jeff Pruitt said total General Fund temporary appropriations total $10,223,354.

Chandler Council approves plat

The Chandler City Council approved the final plat for Phase 1 of Chandler Meadows, subject to the City’s engineer’s approving the streets once they’re completed at their regular monthly meeting on April 8.
