1.Update on Meeker Lake Project A contract was let out for a contractor to take the overflow water pipe apart for the camera inspection. The camera inspection of the pipe has been completed. Now we wait for the engineer report. 2.

Float trip

I was in the garage over the weekend and stepped around my kayak, which, sadly, hasn’t been wet in at least three years. Looking at the kayak and remembering the fish I’d caught in it and the fun in the water, I was seized again by an old-time jones.

New home, old roots

I sat in the chair with my legs anxiously swinging. It was hard to feel like an adult in the moment when my feet didn’t even touch the ground. Early last week, I signed a crap-ton of papers and bought a house. I was excited and scared all at the same time.

Now that the primary election is over, it’s time for the candidates who lost to pick up all their political signs that are no longer needed.

Updates from Meeker Town Hall

COVID 19 pandemic is still the order of business. We all heard Governor Stitt tell us he is not making the use of masks in Oklahoma mandatory. We can still use masks at our own discretion. It is my understanding that the Kansas Governor made it mandatory for all to wear masks.

Town Talk

Town Talk has brought a new business to Stroud inside an existing business, Unique OK. The new business is called Unique Market Ice Cream Shoppe. Andrea Flatt Thompson, Class of 1988, runs the ice cream portion of the store.

Happenings at Prairie Pointe

Independence Day has an added meaning at Prairie Pointe now. Three-year resident Alton McCune spent a late evening on the 4th watching fireworks and visiting with his daughter Anita Reynolds and his soon to be son-in-law Phil Wright.

Resolution review

Like me, you may have felt the slightest bit of a swerve at midnight Tuesday. That was the calendar, with us as passengers, turning the corner into the second half of 2020, which is more difficult to believe than you might think.
