We men should have on our minds why this coming Sunday is a special day. In case you’ve forgotten, this Sunday is Mother’s Day. It’s definitely the day to honor the women in our lives.

Trial set in turnpike case

A motorist on the Turner Turnpike charged with trafficking in illegal drugs has pleaded not guilty and waived a speedy trial. Gregory Johnson, 23, with no address listed, was formally charged Jan. 27 this year in Lincoln County District Court with trafficking in illegal drugs.

Town Talk volunteers are selling bricks in Ed. Smalley Centennial Park at the Veteran’s Memorial. Several people have inquired if they could still purchase a brick in the Memorial and the answer is now yes! We have many bricks that are already in place but have not yet been inscribed.

This coming Tuesday, May 9, will mark a year since the day we had to take our pooch Bailey to the vet and have her put to sleep. My wife Pat and I think of her frequently. In fact, we often catch ourselves saying something to our cat and calling her Bailey.

Our veterans’ banners should be up this month, in time for Memorial Day. City Manager Bob Pearman is busily working on a QR code system for this project. The technology is not one I’ve used very much but I know it is quickly taking over how we view things, pay bills, etc.

New mayor in McLoud

McLoud City Council members during their most recent meeting appointed a new mayor and vice mayor and created a committee as the result of an ARPA Community survey. City Manager Cody Roe said Councilman Daniel McClure, Jr.

(opinion) Most students at White Rock have played sports or been involved in some form of athletics for half of their lives. There have been kids that have graduated from here and continued playing the sport that they grew up on or tried different sports successfully.

Ada woman to stand trial

An Ada woman has been bound over to stand trial on amended charges in connection with a fatal traffic collision that killed a Prague man about 2½ years ago.

Hearing continued in turnpike case

A pre-preliminary hearing has been continued for a driver on the Turner Turnpike who faces a felony and misdemeanor for allegedly using her vehicle in discharge of a weapon.
