Openness should be supreme when it comes to meetings and records of public bodies. We see and hear of boards, councils, other public bodies that either ignore or attempt to skirt the Open Meetings and Records Act. Non-profits are subject to the law when they receive any kind of public funding.

Arraignment on two felonies

A driver facing two felonies for running a pair of roadblocks has waived his preliminary hearing and his arraignment has been scheduled. Joshua Wade Pleasant, 34, Shawnee, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on Aug. 1, 2022 with two felony counts of running a roadblock.

Five felonies in shooting case

A Lincoln County man is facing five felony charges after reportedly shooting at his parents and leading law enforcement officers on a high speed pursuit before being caught and arrested.

Warrant issued in fatal collision

A $20,000 bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of a young Prague man charged with first degree manslaughter as the result of a fatal traffic collision. A formal charge was filed March 2 this year in Lincoln County District Court against Joseph Resin Linnhuber.
