The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation back in December sent out a list of proposed changes related to hunting and fishing. The ODWC does this each year and seeks input from the public. The agency provides three ways those people who are interested in responding can do so.

Well, I didn’t start off 2022 with a bang. I missed the deadline last week on getting Town Talk into the newspaper. Town Talk projects and community activities slow down during this cold weather so sometimes there’s not much news to tell you.

Meeker keeps Pruitt as superintendent

The Meeker Board of Education this week voted to offer a contract to School Supt. Jeff Pruitt for the 2022-2023 school year. The board went into executive session before returning to the open meeting and taking the vote.

I got home Monday evening and wanted to look at something in the back yard. So, I slipped through the back gate, stomped around for a few minutes and then headed back out. It was dusk, so you could see things in general, but not a lot of details on the ground.

Hearing for Chandler man

Pre-preliminary hearings have been set for a Chandler man facing multiple felonies in three separate cases. Christopher Allen Michael Hyde, 20, was charged Nov. 10 in Lincoln County District Court with knowingly receiving or concealing stolen property.

Lincoln County Commissioners meeting

Lincoln County commissioners this week voted to divvy up equally the apportionment ratio of County Improvement Road and Bridge funds. With their vote, they each will receive 33 and a third percent of the funds.
