Town Talk

Glenda Buchanan Funk called me this week to check on the train engine Town Talk purchased from Paula Hicks Ackerman so I thought I’d share an update with you. We did purchase the engine and are having it restored. It is a community effort.

The family of Louis C. Brown of Meeker, Okla., would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to those of you who supported us through the passing of our husband, dad, grandpa and friend. Your kindness of food, flowers, cards and words of encouragement helped us through a very difficult time.

Grandma Blansett used to have a red-and-white Coleman water jug on the top shelf of her kitchen cabinet. This was a nice jug, probably a twogallon model with a wide lid that screwed into the top and a spigot at the bottom.

1. Update on “Quapaw 15 Project/ Meeker Lake No new updates worth reporting. 2. Updates on Glenncrest Park A. A 12’x22’ concrete slab has been poured for our new 12’x21’ pavilion. The pavilion will be here in a few weeks & U.S. Steel will install it. B.

A couple of weeks ago, my good friend Steve Buoy and I journeyed out to western Oklahoma and enjoyed a fall turkey hunt. We each bagged a gobbler as did one of Steve’s cousins, Denton, who happened to be out there and hunted with us.

Town Talk

Thank you to everyone who purchased yard signs for Veteran’s Day to thank our veterans for their service. I loved driving around town and seeing the signs placed in so many yards. It was a nice tribute to our veterans.

Happenings at Prairie Pointe

Rae Bland’s devotional last Sunday was “The Suffering Servant” from Isiah 53. Jesus came to pay the penalty for all our sins. He accomplished His purpose on the cross. We enjoyed singing some gospel songs.
