Stroud man going to trial

A Stroud man who is facing eight felonies following his arrest by officers has been bound over to stand trial.Formal charges were filed Sep. 24, 2024 in Lincoln County District Court against Acey Ambrose Murphy, 33. He appeared before Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk the same day he was charged.

Wreaths Across Stroud is taking place this year on Sunday, December 15th at 1:30 p.m. at Stroud Cemetery. There will be a short program in remembrance of our veterans and then we will lay wreaths on each veteran’s grave. We ask all community members to come out and help us honor these men and women.

Candidates for Boards of Education in Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties concluded filing for offices last week. Those who filed and didn’t draw an opponent with their seat unopposed.If more than two candidates filed for the same position, a primary election will be held Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025.

A Wellston woman who entered a guilty blind plea death to first degree murder in the death of a Carney has been sentenced.

The unbeaten Wellston Lady Tigers (above), ranked No. 16 in ClassA, won the Agra Invitational and pushed their record to 9-0.
