10,000 marijuana plants seized

A Chandler man who allegedly obtained an OMMA license and OBN registration fraudulently has been charged with trafficking illegal drugs and more than 10,000 marijuana plants were discovered and destroyed.

Dale board hires teachers

Dale Board of Education members have hired three new teachers and approved amending the calendar for the 2024-2025 school year.After spending about 30 minutes in executive session, board members returned to open meeting.

Sentencing in firearms case

A Cushing man charged last December on a firearms count has waived his preliminary hearing, has pleaded guilty and been sentenced.Alfred John Saddington, 60, was charged in Lincoln County District Court Dec. 28, 2023 with possession of a firearm after former felony conviction.

Turner Turnpike going cashless

The days of fumbling for change while speeding down Turner Turnpike are coming to an end. The toll road will be officially cashless on May 1, with the transition happening overnight, according to Joe Echelle, executive director of the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority.

Child abuse, intimidation charges

A woman from Meeker and a Shawnee man, already charged with felony child abuse, now face additional felonies. One of the counts against the Meeker woman is for intimidation of witness.

Charges dropped in aggravated assault case

Aggravated assault and battery charges against three defendants have been dismissed.Michael Adam Norris, Joseph Daniel Dearmond and Jordan Sean Thomason, all Lincoln County Jail inmates at the time, were charged in Lincoln County District Court on Jan. 23, this year, with felonies.
