Lions win at Ripley, go to 7-3

Jordan Denson hit a shot at the horn on Friday to put Chandler into the finals of the Ripley tournament, then the Lions led for almost the whole game against the host Warriors in the finals on Saturday. The result was a 50-45 championship victory that didn’t feel quite that close.

Dale board votes to fix roof

Dale Board of Education members this week approved a contract with a roofing company and voted to use County Education sales tax funds to purchase a school bus. Board members approved a contract with Coryell Roofing to repair and fix those roofs that were damaged by hail. School Supt.

Anticipating this week’s winter storm it got me to thinking about when I was kid and how much I looked forward to the snow. If it snowed enough, that meant we would be out of school. Along with the other kids in our neighborhood we could make snowmen, go sledding, have all kinds of fun.

Town Talk

Thanks again to everyone who donated money to purchase a wreath to honor our veterans at Stroud Cemetery this Christmas. Volunteers picked up the wreaths this past Sunday and Town Talk appreciated their help very much.
