Oleta Fay (Parker) Stone passed from this world on April 12, 2024, at the age of 89.

Oleta was born July 18, 1934, a twin and the seventh of nine children to Clarence and Emily (Modena) Parker on rural farm in Wellston, Oklahoma.

She graduated from Chandler High School in 1952. Oleta married Glen Stone on March 29, 1952. They were married 49 years at the time of Glen’s death in 2001. They made their home east of Shawnee except for a short time in Choctaw and one year in Ireland.

Oleta worked a number of years as a licensed practical nurse, but her greatest calling and joy came from being a helpmate to her husband and a mother to her five children. Rural farm life was challenging at times, but she persevered with contentment and joy providing food and clothing for the family. This fit well with her hobbies of quilting, needlework, and cooking.

Oleta was a member of Sovereign Grace Church in Harrah, Oklahoma. Her testimony was sharing the message of God’s saving grace. She enjoyed biblical discussions and led by example her love of Christ. She was faithful to study the scriptures daily and spent many hours listening to her favorite pastor’s messages. She opened her home to many saints from across the country.

She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Emily Parker, husband Glen Stone, son Daniel Stone, son Stanley Stone, brother Weldon Parker, brother Melvin Parker, brother Curtis Parker, sister Lorena Grissam, sister Leota Belcher, sister Mildred Martin, and sister Anna Thomas.

She is survived by her son Gary Stone (Rebecca) of Chandler, Oklahoma; daughter Faye Stone of Earlsboro, Oklahoma; daughter Glenita Vasquez of Mansfield, Texas; twin sister Anita Kimball of Harrah, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren; 26 greatgrandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The viewing was held on April 17, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Walker Funeral & Cremation Service. A funeral ceremony will be held on April 18, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Fairview Baptist Church.
