Salute to Veterans coming in November

The Lincoln County News will publish a Salute to Veterans in the edition of Nov. 9. The deadline to submit photos is 5 p.m. Nov. 3. The earlier you submit them, the better. The salute will include photos and each veteran’s name, rank and years of service.

This year’s annual Downtown Trick or Treat in Chandler is set to take place from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 31 along Manvel. Most of the businesses located there plan to hand out treats to kiddos during the event. It is open to all families to attend.

A fire that broke out in Stroud on Main Street Monday night destroyed an antique store but firefighters were able to contain the fire to that building. Stroud Fire Chief Chris Wilson said the call came in at 8:35 p.m. Wilson noted, “We had heavy smoke as we arrived.

Manhunt after grow burglary

Jerry Kashwer, a longtime resident of Chandler, Oklahoma, was born on August 10, 1930, in Gerty, Oklahoma. He departed this earthly life on October 10, 2023, in Stroud, Oklahoma at the age of 93 years. Jerry was the son of Sam Kashwer and Oma Hollingsworth. He was raised in Gerty, Oklahoma.

Michael Vincent Siegel was born June 25, 1965 in Sedalia, Missouri to Larry Michael Siegel and Barbara Jean (Gray). He passed away October 12, 2023 at his home in Warwick at the age of 58. Mike was preceded in death by his father, stepfather, grandparents, and great-nephew.

Sydney Duncan and Harley Cole have been selected as Rotarians of the Month for October. Sydney Duncan is the daughter of Karen and Jeff Duncan. She has two siblings. After Sydney graduates, she would like to go to Barclay College and pursue a degree in business.
