9-1-1 payroll issues

Lincoln County commissioners during a special joint meeting with the 911 Trust Authority Tuesday voted to provide $41,657 in payroll assistance to the E-911.

Jeanne “Jean” Hodde, long-time Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born on November 6, 1940, in Louisville, Kentucky. She departed this life on August 31, 2023, at her home in Chandler at the age of 82 years. Jean was the daughter of Charles and Daisy (Raffel) Mahoney.

County commission

Lincoln County commissioners this week opened and tabled bids on one street project and two steel beam bridges. They also accepted solid waste grants and authorized the Sheriff’s Office to apply for a grant.

Wellston woman faces harboring charges

A $10,000 benc1h warrant has been issued for a Wellston woman after she was charged with harboring a fugitive from justice. A formal charge was filed on Sep. 13 in Lincoln County District against Bridgett Lynn Mitchell, 49. The bench warrant was issued the same day. She is accused on about Aug.

Bench warrant issued in arson case

A $5,000 bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of an Agra man who is charged with arson. A formal charge of third degree arson was filed Sep. 13 in Lincoln County District Court against Steve Thomas Bottger, 61.

Drug charges for Stroud man

A Stroud man faces a drug charge following his arrest by a Lincoln County deputy sheriff. Formal charges of unlawful possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute were filed Sep. 13 in Lincoln County District Court against Ronald Dean Mixon, 60.

The Chandler FFA chapter recently attended the 2023 COLT leadership conference in Norman , Ok. Our team was able to learn about valuable skills that we will implement into our local chapter. Attending were the 2023-2024 Chandler officer team.

Trial for Weeks on 40 felonies

A jury trial is scheduled for the second week of the current Pottawatomie County jury term for a Shawnee man facing more than 40 felony charges of sex-related crimes with minors. Danny Ray Weeks, Jr., 52, was charged in Pottawatomie County District Court on Dec. 15, 2022 with 34 felony counts.

Hearings scheduled in neglect

Preliminary hearings have been scheduled for two men from Wellston charged with child neglect and prepreliminary hearings have been set for two women facing the same charges. The four, all from Wellston, were residing in the same residence with nine children at the time of their arrest.
