Larry Skinner departed this life on September 5, 2023 in Stroud, OK. Larry was born to Robert and Wanda (Witham) Skinner on May 13, 1944 in Okemah, OK. Larry worked for over 20 years with the City of Stroud. Larry is preceded in death by his parents and twin brother Gary Skinner.

Wanda Pringle Shaw was born April 14, 1925 in West Virginia to Pete and Lilly Mae (Mullins) Stewart. She passed away September 10, 2023 in Prague at the age of 98.

Christine Belle Miller Spain was born December 25, 1936, to Frank A. and Eunice (Porter) Miller. She attended Davenport Public Schools, graduating in 1955. She was married to Bobby Gene Lamb, to this union was born two sons, Larry Dean and Gerald Gene Lamb.

Rotary students of the month named

Carson Jackson and Skylenn Yaunt have been selected as Rotarians of the Month for September. Carson Jackson is the daughter of Josh and Jen Jackson. After Carson graduates, she plans to continue her academic and athletic pursuits at the collegiate level and major in business management.

Lincoln County Commission

Lincoln County commissioners during a brief, special meeting this week adopted a Use Tax resolution for E-911 payroll. It was explained the total amount is $50,000 to be paid at around $4,100 monthly. County Clerk Alicia Wagnon said the invoice wouldn’t be paid until the last meeting of the month.
