Stroud’s Tigers and the Prague Red Devils punctuated their seasons on Friday with district championships, but did it in different ways.

Lions 23, Bobcats 14

Chandler clinched second place in the district and a home game in the first round of the playoffs by outlasting Star-Spencer Friday night.

Stroud 59, Wewoka 0

Stroud scored 40 points in the first quarter en route to a 59-0 win over Wewoka Friday night in Stroud. The game clinched the District A-6 championship with the win and will host a first-round game in the playoffs.

Wetumka 49, Davenport 0

Davenport football coach John Greenfield described his team’s 49-0 loss to Wetumka last week as a “game of errors.” “The very first snap on offense we fumbled and they scooped it up and scored,” Greenfield said.

Stroud man pleads guilty to five felonies

A Stroud man charged with four counts of first degree rape and one for sexual abuse with a child under 12 has entered no contest blind pleas to all five counts.

Hutson enters blind plea in arson

A Stroud man has entered a guilty blind plea to six counts of arson that accused him of setting wildfires in Lincoln County over a period of nearly a year.

County commissioners

Lincoln County commissioners this week during a brief, special meeting approved a REAP grant application for District 2 and also adopted a resolution for disposing of equipment in District 3.
