Arraignment in Tryon case

One of three former officials with the City of Tryon facing embezzlement and conspiracy charges as the result of a special investigative audit last year has waived her preliminary hearing and her arraignment has been scheduled. The audit was released in February of 2022.

The beginning of a new life

On Memorial Day afternoon, my wife Pat and I once again became a great aunt and uncle. Our niece Sarah gave birth to a baby boy. Wyatt James was born at 2:39 p.m. on Memorial Day. Sarah is the daughter of Pat’s younger sister, Marilyn.

Hearing set in high-speed chase

A pre-preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a driver facing four charges after he reportedly led Stroud police on a high speed pursuit. Dustin Don Secrest, 41, of Coweta, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court March 10 with two felonies and two misdemeanors.

Stroud woman arrested

Stroud police responding to a call at the Stroud High School Softball Complex shortly after midnight arrested a woman on outstanding warrants and she now faces a new drug charge.

Deanna Lee Christy was born on November 19, 1939, at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to parents, Cassie and Earl Christy. She passed away May 20, 2023. Deanna graduated from Dumas High School, Dumas, Texas, and was a member of the High School band.
