McLoud approves hunting coordinators

McLoud City Council members during their most recent meeting appointed hunting coordinators for Wes Watkins Lake for the next couple of years. They also approved the closeout of a CDBG sewer line project and purchased extrication equipment for the fire department.

Charges filed after drive-by shooting

A search warrant being served by Lincoln County deputies regarding a drive-by shooting led to felonies being filed against three people in the Dale and McLoud area. One of those is a 16-year-old facing youthful offender charges. Sgt.

Conference postponed in case of Stroud crash

A status conference for the driver of a vehicle that struck and seriously injured a Stroud youth who was driving a motorcycle last July has been continued.

Pursuit winds up at Dale school

A high speed pursuit that reportedly started in Perkins, went down U.S. 177 clear to I-40 and ended up at the Dale Middle School after partially running through a farmer’s wheat field. The pursuit reportedly reached speeds of 105 miles per hour and the vehicle being pursued was stolen.

President Marilyn Young, opened the meeting with a short history of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.

Dale Board of Education members this week hired a new high school principal, four elementary teachers and accepted the resignation of another. On the recommendation of School Supt. Will Jones, the board members hired Erick Muncy as high school principal for the 2023-2024 school year.

True Sky Federal Credit Union is donating the Paseo Building in Davenport to Davenport schools for use by the Head Start program. True Sky acquired the buiding during its recent merger with Central Oklahoma FederalCreditUnion.

Easter Sunday comes a little early this year. This coming Sunday is Easter and I had someone ask me the other day was I ready for it. I answered I guess I was. The entire weekend, Saturday and Sunday, is forecasted to be really nice, warm temperatures, highs in the 70s.
