Austin Jaymes Wonn was born January 26, 1991 in Oklahoma City to Rustin Wonn and Angi Lynn (Marshall) Osborn. He passed on January 13, 2022 in Oklahoma City at the age of 31. He worked as an airframe and powerplant mechanic and was a great friend to many.

Emma Belle Rackley was born February 27, 1930 in Parkland to Marion and Orba (Byers) Hale. She passed away January 17, 2023 in Midwest City at the age of 92. She is one of 5 generations of Emma’s all named by their fathers. Emma grew up in Parkland as the oldest of 5 children.

Oscar Eldin Lesher was born January 28, 1930 in Maramec, Oklahoma and died January 14, 2023 at the age of 92. Oscar, one of 17 children, the son of George A Lesher and Minnie (Helms) Lesher was a resident of Crescent, Oklahoma. He married Frances Muns August 5, 1950 in Maramec.

Joe Richard Holik was born on March 13, 1952 and died on January 21, 2023. Joe was one of five kids born to Emil and Mae (Davis) Holik in Amarillo, Texas. At a very young age, Joe and his family moved to Lincoln County and made their home there. He graduated from Prague High School in 1971.

Philip Noel ”Phil” Boyd Jr., born Aug. 27, 1946, departed this life on Jan. 23, 2023, in Oklahoma City surrounded by family. Phil was born in Sayre, Okla. to Philip Noel Boyd Sr. and Winifred (Fullerton) Boyd.

Emma Cummings and Payton Miller have been selected as Rotarians of the Month for the month of January. Emma Cummings is the daughter of Rafe and Christon Cummings. Emma has one older brother, Ethan Cummings.

Filing periods open for municipal races

The filing period for municipal offices in Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties opens at 8 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 6 and continues through 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8.

Warrant issued for registration violation

A $15,000 bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Davenport man charged with two felonies in separate cases. A formal felony count of violation of the Mary Rippy Violent Crime Registration Act was filed Jan. 24 in Lincoln County District Court against Thad DeLacy Tucker, 36.

McLoud approves ARPA spending

McLoud City Council members during their most recent meeting approved spending ARPA funds on several items, especially for the city’s police and fire departments. They adopted an ordinance and the emergency clause on a comprehensive Campaign, Finance and Ethics Code.
