The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office held its Shop With A Cop Thursday. Members of the department shopped with a family of three boys, ages 13, 10 and 7. The children got to pick out toys and clothes, as well as some groceries.

Contraband case to go to trial

A Chandler man has been bound over to stand trial on three felonies in July in connection with a Harrah man already in jail on a murder charge who was facing five additional felony counts.

The driver of a vehicle that struck and seriously injured a Stroud youth who was driving a motorcycle in July has waived his preliminary hearing.

Meeker sets election

TheMeekerTownBoard this week adopted a resolution calling for the election of the Town in 2023. The board also spent a brief time in two executive sessions before returning and approving pay increases for three employees.

Dale extends contract for school superintendent

Dale’s Board of Education has voted to extend the contract of its superintendent by a year beginning in July of 2023 and members also hired two new people. The board held a special meeting Dec.12 rather than on Dec. 5 due to illness of some members.

Chandler resident Barry Lewis, shown at right with his wife, Demetra, retired after 31 years with the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority and was honored with a reception Sunday at the Route 66 Interpretive Center.
