Chandler school board

Chandler’s Board of Education this week approved hiring two new employees and also increased the price of student and adult meals. School Supt. Scott Baade said that Angela Gonzales was hired as a paraprofessional and Christian Moody was employed as a maintenance and ground worker.

MIKE McCORMICK Staff Writer Meeker’s Board of Education this week approved hiring some new teachers and teacher Aides and heard from principals that enrollment for the 2022-2023 school year is up.

A Harrah man already awaiting a jury trial on a first degree murder complaint now faces five more felonies. Cole Berginer Guy, 19 at the time, and now 20, was formally charged Feb.

Murder suspect bound over for trial

MIKE McCORMICK Staff Writer One of two men charged with first degree murder in the death of a Midwest City man last September has been bound over to stand trial. A murder charge against the other man accused in the killing has been dismissed.

Hearing set in Meeker child sex abuse case

The preliminary hearing has been set for a Meeker man facing sexual abuse charges with a child under 12. Two felony charges of sexual abuse with a child under 12 were formally filed April 4 against Jason Stuart Kirkwood, 42.

Lincoln County schools have set policy guidelines and prices for free or reducedprice meals for children served under the National School Lunch Program, the School Breakfast Program, and the After-School Snack Program.

Joyce Evelyn Haney was born Oct. 24, 1944 in Tishomingo, Okla. to Joy and Evelyn (Stewart) Trammell. She passed away Aug. 2, 2022 in Shawnee at the age of 77. Joyce was a housewife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed crafting and made a great farm hand raising horses.
