Our family this year celebrated the recent July 4 holiday in a lot bigger way than we have in many years. We had the celebration on the holiday itself while some others in our neighborhood did it either on Saturday or Sunday of that weekend.

A $100,000 bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of man already convicted of several felonies in recent years and now faces three more felonies and a misdemeanor. James Edward Ballard, Jr.

County Commission meeting

Lincoln County commissioners during a special meeting this week approved a 911 mapping system for Emergency Management. County Clerk Alicia Wagnon said the commissioners agreed to purchase One Map Mapping System that will be paid for from Emergency Management’s budget.

Warrants issued in marijuana case

Bench warrants have been issued for the arrest of three individuals wanted on charges in connection with two marijuana grow operations in Lincoln County.

Teen injured in Stroud motorcycle crash

A 15-year-old Stroud motorcycle driver was seriously injured Monday night in a two-vehicle collision and the driver of the other vehicle was taken to jail. Stroud Police Chief Clint Gaylord said he isn’t able to release the injured youth’s name because he is a juvenile.

Planning commission recommends no rezoning

The Chandler Planning Commission has voted not to recommend rezoning property for a sports center. City Manager Jason Orr indicated Tuesday he’s not sure the property owner wants to pursue it any further. The Planning Commission conducted a public hearing June 30 on the proposed rezoning of 13.
