Nona Faith Greenfield, 68, died surrounded by her family on May 31, 2022, at her home in Shawnee. Faith was born on Oct. 4, 1953, in Savannah, Ga. to proud parents Patsy (Parker) and Ferman Davis. On June 25, 1971, she married the love of her life, Virgil “Gene” Greenfield.

Philip Dean Lambert was born Feb. 17, 1945 in Logan, West Virginia to Frank and Armelda (Nester) Lambert. He died peacefully June 3, 2022 in Stroud, Okla. at the age of 77. He served 6 years in the Army National Guard.

James Earl Cronin was born September 15, 1966 and entered into rest on May 28, 2022 at the age of 55 years. He is the son of James & Earlene Cronin, the middle child of three. He is preceded in death by his mother, Earlene Cronin.

Commissioners consider jail committee

Lincoln County commissioners this week discussed briefly the idea of establishing a committee regarding a remodel of the courthouse and expansion of the jail. Since it was a discussion item only on the agenda, they couldn’t take any action but indicated they would look at forming a committee.

Paul and Janice Vassar, residents of Chandler since 1964, will celebrate their 60 th Wedding Anniversary on Thursday, June 9, 2022. Janice Kay Rollins and Paul Miner Vassar were married June 9, 1962, at First United Methodist Church in Tulsa, Okla. Paul is a retired attorney and judge.

Stroud seeks van grant

Stroud city officials are seeking federal funds to help purchase a new vehicle to facilitate the needs of their Senior Citizens. City Manager Bob Pearman explained, “We are seeking the grant for a 15-passenger bus or a 14-passenger van. The one we have now is in terrible condition,” he noted.

Hearings set in sex case

Preliminary hearings have been scheduled for a man and a woman facing multiple sex crimes. Angela Renee Gordon, 42, of Claremore and John Joshua Bonner, 46, of Chandler, were charged in Lincoln County District Court on April 4.
