A different Memorial Day

This past weekend we celebrated Memorial Day and it was a little different than most since I spent from late Friday morning until late Monday afternoon by myself.

12 charges against Wellston man

A total of a dozen charges, among them four felonies, have been filed against a Wellston man in two separate cases. They were filed within two weeks of one another. Michael Ray Hedge, 45, was charged in Lincoln County District Court on May 19 with three felonies and a misdemeanor.

Memorial Day

Eric Bandell, of American legion Post 64 in Chandler and his son, David, place flags Saturday morning on the graves of military veterans resting in Oak Park Cemetery. Memorial Day was observed with ceremonies throughout Lincoln County to honor those who died in the service of the country.

Raymond Edward Bailey

Raymond Edward Bailey was born September 24, 1966, to Robert and Lillie Bailey in Cushing, Okla. He died Thursday, May 12, 2022, at the age of 55 years. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one infant daughter.

Jerry Ross Peters

Jerry Ross Peters of Prague was born January 8, 1941, in Calvin, Okla. He died Thursday, April 28, 2022, in Prague, at the age of 81 years. Peters, the son of Vernon V. and Virginia (Moore) Peters, married Anna Mae (Holik) Peters on April 25, 1962.

Joel Dewayne Wakefield

Joel Dewayne Wakefield, 70, long-time resident of Chandler, died Saturday, May 21, 2022, in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2022 in the chapel of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, which handled the final arrangements.

Sharon Marie Murray

Sharon Marie Murray was born May 25, 1948 to Thad “Andy” Hightower and Zelta Marie (White) Hightower. She passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022, at home in Davenport surrounded by her loved ones. She was 73 years old.
