Faith 7 Bowl game

This year’s Faith 7 Bowl basketball games will be played this Saturday, May 28, at the Noble Complex at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee. The games feature highly rated high school players from Oklahoma and Texas competing against each other.

McLoud approves computer bid

The McLoud City Council, meeting as the Public Works Authority recently, has approved a bid for a new computer system for its wastewater treatment plant. The PWA’s action came during an emergency meeting. City Manager Buck Day said, “I sought three bids for a new system and got back bids from two.

The University of Central Oklahoma College of Education and Professional Studies in Edmond recently awarded Meeker resident Isaac Watham scholarships for the upcoming fall and spring semesters in recognition of his academic achievements and outstanding service to the university.

Laureate Beta Alpha chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, Stroud, joined thousands of Members throughout the world to celebrate the 91st anniversary of the founding of the organization on April 30,1931. It is also the 43rd anniversary of the chartering of the Stroud chapter.

Meet the Candidates

The Committee for Better Roads in Lincoln County District 1 will host a meeting of voters and candidates in the District 1 County Commissioner primary. The meeting will be 6 p.m., Tuesday, June 14, at the American Legion Hall in Stroud.

Lloyd and Nelda Lewis will observe their 70th Wedding Anniversary on May 28, 2022. They were married May 28, 1952, in the home of her parents in Sulphur, Okla. In 1970 they purchased farmland near Sparks, Okla., building a home there later.
