The Springdale School Reunion will be held at noon, Saturday, June 4, at the Chandler Senior Citizens Building. Bring your favorite dish or dessert for a potluck meal. If you have pictures or any memorabilia, bring those to share with fellow alumni.

Margaret “Linda” Jo (Grammer) Quinn was born on January 29, 1947 in Sparks, Okla., and departed this life on Sunday, May 8, 2022 in Tulsa, Okla., at the age of 75. Linda Jo (Grammer) Quinn was born to William B. Grammer and Elsie M. (Speer) Grammer. She was a resident of Stroud most of her life.

Robyn Ready, of Chandler, has been appointed to serve as a Regent for Seminole State College. The appointment was made by Gov. Kevin Stitt, confirmed by the Oklahoma State Senate Education Committee on May 10 and will be sent to the state Senate for final approval.

A hearing seeking a protective order filed against a former Carney school teacher and softball coach has been continued until next month.

Two to stand trial in OnCue shooting

Two men charged in a shooting at an On Cue in Stroud last Oct. 9 have been bound over to stand trial. They were bound over at the conclusion of a preliminary hearing earlier this month.

New polling places

Some voters in Lincoln County will have a new polling place as result of recent changes to precinct boundaries, Melissa Stambaugh, Lincoln County Election Board Secretary announced. Stambaugh said the changes were necessary because of redistricting due to the last census.

Felony charge for Meeker man

A Meeker man faces a felony DUI charge and several misdemeanor counts following his arrest recently by Meeker police. The charges were formally filed in Lincoln County District Court on April 18 against Tyler Marc Armitage, 22.
