Chandler woman’s hearing set

A pre-preliminary hearing has been set for a Chandler woman facing a felony and two misdemeanors as the result of a traffic stop conducted by Chandler police in late February. Jonstella Ashlyn Neal, 25, was formally charged Feb.

Pickup runs over driver

A Meeker man suffered injuries last Saturday evening when his vehicle struck him on SH 18 north of Meeker. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Conner Fryrear, who investigated the crash, identified the injured man as Gerald Cooper, 79.

McLoud School Foundation grants

The McLoud School Foundation recently selected 18 teacher grants totaling $12,997.85 that were submitted by teachers in McLoud Public Schools. The grant recipients will now be able to purchase a variety of educational supplies.

NRC media class handling Fire video broadcasts

Students in Media Productions class at North Rock Creek High School have been hired by Shawnee’s new professional basketball team “The Potawatomi Fire”. Gavin Cooper, Jayden Brown, and Skylar Wind all participate in Media Productions II under the tutelage of instructor, Tim Russell.

Chandler Library receives grant

The Oklahoma Department of Libraries has awarded a $5,339 grant to Chandler Public Library to address impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Library Director Carmen Harkins says the grant will be used to purchase items for social distancing and sanitizing.

City of Chandler to sponsor pet vaccination clinic

The City of Chandler in cooperation with Countryside Veterinary Service is sponsoring a low-cost pet vaccination clinic and city pet registration 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, April 16. The event will be at the Rt. 66 Pavilion, 1113 Joe Long Drive in Chandler. Pre-registration is 10-11 a.m.
