Trial dates set for Harrah pair

Jury trial dates have been scheduled for next week for a Harrah pair charged earlier this year with with multiple child sexual abuse crimes. Jeremy C. Barnes, Sr., 36 and Amanda D. Bond-Langston, 32, each face six counts of child sexual abuse and one count each of child neglect.

Fab Fall winners

Downtown Prague is decorated for the autumn season as a result of the annual Fab Fall Contest hosted by the Prague Chamber of Commerce. A record number of businesses and community members participated this year with 41 displays along Jim Thorpe Blvd. and Main Street.

Rights of long-term care residents need to be recognized

October has been designated as Residents’ Rights Month. It is a time for residents of nursing homes and other long-term care facilities along with family members, ombudsmen, citizen advocates, facility staff and others to honor the individual rights of long-term care residents.

Seminole State College

Officials at Seminole State College announced that 34 students were recently inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society for Two-Year Colleges. The induction ceremony was conducted virtually. Oklahoma State Senator Zack Taylor served as the event’s guest speaker.

There are roughly 2 ½ months left in 2021 and I was thinking it’s probably time to take a look at where I am with the resolutions I made this year. When I made them during the final few days of 2020, I didn’t write down a specific number. I figure most of the resolutions are a work in progress.

Town Talk

Students from Creighton University are in town this week doing volunteer work. They are going to help Town Talk place the greens on the golf course holes Friday. The completion of the miniature golf course has gone much slower than we anticipated. We have been short on monies.
