Lillie Irene Jones

Lillie Irene Jones passed away at the age of 79 on April 14, 2021 in Shawnee, Okla. Lillie was born in Crane, Texas on December 5, 1941 to Angus Lloyd Martindale and Mammie Pearl (Young) Martindale. She grew up in the north Texas area and then moved to the Lincoln County area in the late ‘80’s.

Barbara Lee Boland was born February 24, 1944, in Santa Barbara, Calif. She died Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at the age of 77 years. Boland worked for Miller Truck Lines in Stroud.

Jim Alan Wood passed away at the age of 73. He was born to Ralph and Lorene Wood on October 16, 1947 in Wichita, Kan. Jim, an All-American man through and through. He served his country completing 4 tours of duty in Vietnam as a member of the U.S. Navy.

Chandler fifth-grader Gavin Moore, 11, recently made and painted an American flag as a school project and asked members of VFW Post 1719 in Chandler to sign it. On Monday, he donated the flag to the post.

Stroud to host meeting

A public meeting to discuss the Title IA, Title VI and P.L. 874 (Impact Aid) 2021- 2022 applications for Stroud Public Schools has been set for Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.. These meetings are open to the public and all interested parties are welcome to attend.

Prague to host Legislative Breakfast

The public is invited to attend as the Prague Chamber of Commerce hosts the Lincoln County Legislative Breakfast, 8 a.m., Friday, April 23, at the Municipal Building in Prague.

Davenport students honored at CTC

Several students from Davenport High School were recently inducted into the National Technical Honor Society at Central Technology Center in Drumright. It is one of the most prestigious honors a student can hold at Central Tech.

Drug trafficking charges filed

Three people face trafficking of illegal drugs among other charges following their arrest by Iowa Tribe police officers earlier this month in Lincoln County. Joel Paul Schofield, 41, of Chandler, faces two felonies and two misdemeanors.
