Charges in gun-related case

A Sparks man faces two felony charges and he has at least two prior convictions. A Wellston resident also has been charged with a felony, and court records show he has five previous convictions for felonies. A bench warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Construction for Meeker’s Quapaw 15 project has been moved back again, Meeker Town Administrator Dickie Walton said. The project is to raise the level of the Quapaw 15 Reservoir, commonly known as Meeke Lake, and eventually provide Meeker with its own source of water.

COVID continues climb

The number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 has jumped again in both Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties in the last few days, the Oklahoma State Department of Health reports. There have been four more deaths in Pottawatomie County in the last seven days.

Redistricting meeting to be held in Chandler

The Oklahoma House of Representatives Redistricting Committee will hold a town hall meeting in Chandler at 5:30 p.m. Jan. at the Route 66 Interpretive Center. The Legislature must redraw its legislative and Congressional districts every 10 years following the Census.
