Commissioners accepts Apprentice bid

Lincoln County commissioners on Tuesday accepted a bid from Apprentice to enable Emergency Management’s room to be connected to the courthouse IT infrastructure. County Clerk Alicia Wagnon said commissioners approved the $10,532 bid from Apprentice.

COVID cases in area still surging

The number of people testing positive for COVID-19 across Oklahoma again increased significantly over the past week and the surge continues in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties as well.

Lions 54, Bulldogs 19

Chandler racked up 524 yards of total offense and put up 47 points in the middle two periods Friday night against Meeker. The result was a 54-19 victory that sent the Lions into the third round of the Class 2A playoffs. The Lions visit unbeaten Marlow at 7 Friday night.

Davenport wins, faces Summit Christian next

Davenport’s Bulldogs held off Garber, 42-34, Friday night to advance to the third round of the playoffs. The Bulldogs head to Summit Christian Friday to face the Eagles at 7 p.m.

Stroud’s Morris signs with Ottawa College

Surrounded by her parents and coaches, Stroud senior Macey Morris signs a letter of intent to play softball for Ottawa College in Kansas. The Lady Tigers’ second baseman, Morris took the team to back-to-back appearances in the fastpitch state tournament and to the 66 Conference championship.

Meeker All-Staters

Meeker cross-country coach Brady Dukes presented All-State jackets to Riley Randall, left, and Braxton Bussell last week. For Randall, a sophomore and the Class 3A state champion this year, it was his second All-State Award. Bussell, also a sophomore, finished eighth.
