50th COVID death in Pott County

The number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 has climbed to 50 in Pottawatomie County over the past week, the Oklahoma State Department of Health reports.

Four additional deaths have been reported in the county. They include three females and a male, all in the 65 or older age group, the OSDH said.

The 50 deaths compares to 46 a week ago, the OSDH reports.

Two more deaths in Lincoln County have been reported over the last seven days. One is a female in the 50-64 age group and information on the other was not available from the OSDH.

The number of deaths in Lincoln County as of Tuesday is 39. A week ago it was 37.

Over the past week the number of positive cases has again continued to rise in both Pottawatomie and Lincoln counties.

The number of new positive tests in Pottawatomie County jumped by 279 in the last week and in Lincoln County they increased by 137, according to figures provided by the OSDH.

Between the two counties, the number of positive tests has jumped by 416 in the last seven days.

Lincoln County’s number this week is 2,729. A week ago it was 2,592. Two weeks ago it was 2,461 the OSDH said.

The number of people testing positive for the virus in Pottawatomie County this week stands at 6,989. Last week it was 6,710. The county’s total two weeks ago was 6,411.

Total number of people testing positive in the two counties now stands at 9,718, according to the OSDH.

A week ago that num ber stood at 9,302. Two weeks ago the number was 8,872.

Total number of people who have recovered in the two counties is 8,938 according to OSDH figures. In Pottawatomie County, 6,455 have recovered and 2,483 have recovered in Lincoln County.

Statewide as of Tuesday 376,824 have tested positive, there have been 3,323 deaths and 342,697 who have recovered. Active cases stood at 30,404 the OSDH reports.

Last week there were 358,374 testing positive, there had been 3,037 deaths and 319,201 had recovered. There were 36,136 active cases a week ago.

This week on Tuesday, the OSDH reported 1,571 new positive cases confirmed and 30 additional deaths.

The OSDH reports more than 2,716,708 people have tested negative.
