Lincoln County’s 10th COVID death

Lincoln County has recorded its 10th death attributed to COVID-19 within the last week and the number of people testing positive in Pottawatomie County has climbed above 1,200, the Oklahoma State Department of Health says.

The latest death in Lincoln County is a female in the 65 and older age group, according to the OSDH.

Pottawatomie County has surpassed 1,200 people testing positive for COVID-19, reporting more than 100 new cases again in the past week. The county’s total on Tuesday was 1,234. Last week that number was 1,086. Two weeks ago it was 970.

In Pottawatomie County, the number of people testing positive for the virus climbed by 148 since last week, the Oklahoma State Department of Health reported.

Lincoln County’s number on Tuesday was 398 the OSDH said. It was 358 last week and the county’s positive cases over the past week has jumped by 40. Two weeks ago there were 334 positive cases in the county.

A week ago, the combined number of positive cases in the two counties stood at 1,444.

Combined, the total number of positive cases in the two counties now stands at 1,632 as of Tuesday.

Also as of Tuesday, there have been 19 reported deaths in the two counties, 10 in Lincoln County and nine in Pottawatomie County. Total number of people who have recovered in the two counties is 1,326, according to OSDH figures. In Pottawatomie County, 997 have recovered and 329 have recovered in Lincoln County.

Statewide as of Tuesday,79,072 have tested positive, there have been 962 deaths and 65,482 who have recovered. Active cases stood at 12,628 the OSDH said.

Last week there were 71,314 testing positive, there had been 912 deaths and 59,993 had recovered. There were 10,409 active cases a week ago.

More than a month ago, the number of positives statewide stood at 44,728. The statewide number of deaths at that same time attributed to the virus stood at 618.

On Tuesday , the OSDH reported 1,164 new positive cases confirmed and 14 additional deaths.
