The Lincoln County Fair is but a few days with the opening scheduled for next Wednesday evening, Sep. 1, at the Fairgrounds in Chandler.
Jessica Riggin, Lincoln County Extension Director, assures everyone, “We’re having a fair.”
She said it opens this year with the swine show beginning at 6:30 p.m., for open class, junior breeding and junior market hogs.
Also that evening, between 6:30 and 8 p.m., will be 4-H and FFA exhibits and Open Class entries for the convenience of employed people.
All remaining 4-H, FFA and Ope class exhibits must be in place and entered with the superintendents between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Thursday.
“We’re looking forward to the fair and hope everyone will come out,” Riggin said. “We’re not having a Carnival this year.”
Kellie Warne, Lincoln County Fairgrounds facility manager, confirming there is no Carnival again this year, commented, “COVID-19 has really taken a toll on the carnivals. We lost our last one because of Covid.
“We did have a fair last year, but no carnival.”
Warne points out, “The cattle show is on Thursday, Sep. 2, and begins at 10 a.m. The sheep show is on Saturday, starting at 10 a.m.”
