Tammy Renay Maeder

On Saturday, June 15, 2024, Tammy Renay Maeder made her eternal transition and passed at the age of 57. Tammy, a resident of Meeker, was born July 25, 1966, in Oklahoma City.

She attended Choctaw Schools, acquired her GED and moved on to nursing school. Tammy retired from the Postal Service and worked as an LPN and in home health for many years. On May 8, 2003, she marriedMarkDuaneMaederinShawnee,Oklahoma. Tammy enjoyed engaging people, traveling and exploring when she had the opportunity, small pigs, chickens, gardening, family history, meteor showers, eating out and shopping with family, horses, babies of any persuasion, and antique shops. Tammy was the “salt of the earth” and so very much enjoyed providing for the needs of those around her. She had a can-do spirit like nobody’s business and absolutely delighted in making the lives of others easier to the best of her abilities - which were extensive and often awe-inspiring.

Tammy was preceded in death by her son, David “Junior” Lynn Ellis, Jr.; and brothers, Terry Caudle, and Roland Caudle. She is survived by her mom and dad, Ellen and David Whittet of Choctaw; husband Mark of the home; daughters Tosha of Wellston, Leah of Midwest City, Lydia of Edmond, and Anna of Durant; brothers Dean Housington of Oklahoma City, Tracy Caudle of Lexington, Darrel Caudle of Oklahoma City, David Caudle of Midwest City, and Keith Caudle of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Friends and loved ones paid their respects atWalker Funeral & Cremation Service from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on Wednesday. A ceremony to celebrate Tammy’s life was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 20, at Mammoth Baptist Church, 339943 E. Highway 62, Meeker, Oklahoma. No cemetery interment will be held following the ceremony at the church.
