LindaKayeHancock, a longtime resident of Stroud, Oklahoma, passed away on January 1, 2025, at the age of 77. She was born on February 10, 1947, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Linda spent most of her life in Stroud, where she built a life full of love and faith.
She married the love of her life, Barney F. Hancock, on March 2, 1996, and together they shared over 25 wonderful years of marriage.
A proud elder at New Covenant Church for 27 years, Linda was known as a prayer warrior whose faith inspired and uplifted those around her. Her commitment to her church community was unwavering, and she found great joy in her role of spiritual guidance and prayer. She was always there to pray, listen, and encourage others.
Linda loved telling stories about the many jobs she had over the years, from working with the Drumright Police Department to running a club, managing apartments, and spending time at the Sac & Fox Juvenile Center. Linda wore many hats throughout her life, and she took pride in each role she played. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she delighted in hearing about the activities and accomplishments of her grandchildren. Linda deeply cared for her family and friends, offering unconditional love, support, and kindness to all who knew her.
Linda Kaye Hancock will be remembered as a woman of faith, kindness, and an unstoppable spirit, leaving behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at the New Covenant Church on January 11 at 10 a.m.
